Tierra del Sol by Iberostar celebrates its grand reopening after a complete renovation, making a new milestone for golf on the island.
Located in the heart of Noord, this iconic course designed by renowned architect
Robert Trent Jones II has been fully renewed, both inside and out, to offer a first-class playing and hospitality experience, staying true to Iberostar's commitment to quality and sustainability.
The transformation of Tierra del Sol Golf Course by Iberostar is extensive. The greens and tees have been completely replanted, the irrigation system has been fully modernized, and the driving range has been enhanced with new mats and ball trays. Additionally, the fairways have been reseeded and all 18 holes have been finely tuned, ensuring optimal playing conditions throughout the year.
Among the most notable improvements are the installation of new signage and tee markers, as well as the renovation of the rest areas at holes 6 and 15, offering greater comfort to both players and visitors.
In line with Iberostar’s Wave of Change philosophy, the course introduces a pioneering initiative: the creation of Aruba’s first Shoco Sanctuary, in collaboration with local conservation experts. This protected area is currently home to more than ten pairs of Shoco, the island's native owl, reinforcing Iberostar’s commitment to biodiversity and sustainability.
Described by Golf Digest as "Scotland, Arizona, and the Caribbean in one round", Tierra del Sol combines the strength of the wind, ocean views, and the desert-like texture of the terrain to create a course that is both challenging and spectacular. Today, with this renovation, the course strengthens its position as a benchmark for golf in the Caribbean and as an essential part of the Iberostar experience in Aruba.
